I’ve been told that long form content on the internet is dead and that video is king. I’m not entirely sold on the concept but I do occasionally do audio/visual art projects. If you’re feeling generous you can like and subscribe to the Magical Hamster Youtube Channel.
A NIGHT OF CLARITY PROJECT
This is the project where I do illustrations to go along to the music on Roger Waters’ album “The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking.” By harnessing the power of Windows Movie Maker I’ve synced the drawings to the music. When I finish the project it will essentially be a movie — or the greatest slideshow of all time. Something in between those two extremes.
The following video is a link to the auto-playlist for the project. As soon as one ends it will transition right into the next video. Currently, 9 out of 12 tracks are complete.
THE BALLAD OF PETER PUMPKINHEAD
One of my all-time favorite songs by the band XTC. Be warned that my interpretation of the song is somewhat political in nature.
CHRONO CROSS INTRO POEM
A favorite video game of mine, Chrono Cross, has a poem in its intro. I used to read it aloud to myself as a tweenager. I decided to narrate the poem and super impose that over the original opening movie.
STAR TREK ABSOLUTION / STARSHIP SWIFTWIND
This is a fan-animated series that takes place in the Star Trek universe. I voice a character named Ensign Frayda. She’s a young Benzite that has mostly adapted to living with the imprecise nature of other species. Usually has a cheerful demeanor and pilots the helm.
This is a fairly niche project I’ve taken part in. If you’re not a big Star Trek fan it probably won’t speak a lot to you. It’s written and animated by one very dedicated woman and all of the voice actors have also put their heart into the project. If you are still interested, however, here are links to the completed
